Touring since 1996, Nu Meio mocks the relationship of a typical Portuguese couple who take refuge in fado and slander. The Man — Firmino — marks a territory in the middle of the stage from which the two characters cannot leave. The Woman — Mila — obsessively tries to climb, grasp, suffocate this "mountain man." The dialogue between the characters is like a soap opera, full of common places, words explaining encounters and disagreements, stirring laughs and church songs transformed into operetta.
The performers use recent events of the country/city/occasion in which NU MEIO is presented. To complete these dialogues, Filipa and Bruno collect local love stories through interviews with couples of different generations.
NU MEIO can be performed in both conventional and unconventional spaces such as street, windows, gardens and other. NU MEIO – BIG BALL ends with a ball where everyone dances.
