COMPARTILHAMENTO DE MATÉRIAS — SHARING MATTERS
2023

2024

This project took a school on a journey through the artist's world and served as a laboratory for experimentation. It was an open project to be created by each participant. It weaved a collaboration network between the school and local people, associations and institutions such as Grupo de Teatro Palha de Abrantes, Grupo Folclórico do Pego, writer and teacher José Martinho, Quartel Galeria Municipal de Arte, among others.

The programme was divided into training, creation, rehearsals and presentation. To help foster research and collaboration, several modules were developed: movement, improvisation and composition, stories within history of art, open studio, rehearsals and presentation.

The project extended for six months — between November 2023 and April 2024 — and concluded with a showing of the working process and a public presentation.

In addition to school hours the project included an after-school schedule for a fixed group of 20 participants, including students and other elements of the school community (teachers, staff, parents and guests). The process included open house sessions on Saturdays, inviting the remaining community of Abrantes to participate.
