Espiões addresses the relationship between performing arts and the construction and transmission of cultural memory from a personal universe. Based on the individual and collective memories of some of the artists in her life — choreographers/performers Francisco Camacho, Miguel Pereira and Sílvia Real — Filipa Francisco identifies a unique heritage in the memory of these choreographers and designs a creative and affirmative gesture in the face of the scarcity of dance archives and documentation in Portugal.
